CoTESOL sponsors many events throughout the year with the goal of providing professional development and networking opportunities for our members. Our
largest annual event is the 2-day Fall Convention that usually takes
place in November in the Denver metro area. We also organize a smaller
Spring Conference at various locations across the state of Colorado. In 2020, we pivoted to offering a variety of virtual events due to the COVID-19 pandemic. CoTESOL conventions regularly attract hundreds of attendees from all levels of ESL (i.e. K-12, adult ed, intensive English programs, higher ed, workplace ed, literacy, etc.). In addition to Colorado, many attendees come from neighboring states and around the country. CoTESOL events are an ideal place for first-time presenters because of the welcoming atmosphere and hospitable environment. Many of CoTESOL’s events are aligned to the Colorado Department of Education's Culturally & Linguistically Diverse Education Standards and support the attainment of the 45 hours of CLDE professional development required for CDE teacher licensure. Participants receive a certificate upon completion of the event and a copy of the CDE CLDE Teacher Matrix prefilled with the training alignment. |
